“Broiled Fish”

John 21:1-19

Third Sunday of Easter, May 4th, 2025

What is the message about? . . .

Jesus’ crucifixion and the aftermath.  Trying to understand his appearances to them and where to go from here.  The last couple of weeks have been a lot for the disciples to process.  Grief, shame, exhilaration.  Core beliefs shaken and reformed. Exhausting.  Peter has an idea of what to do to clear his head.  “I am going fishing!” he declares.  This leads to another encounter with the risen Christ, where he models for them his way of giving sustenance and applying his efforts to their care and well-being.  This is what he expects them to do for others.  Come and hear more about the very first Christian fish fry.  Actually, broiled, but you get the idea.
