What is the message about? . . .

Bunnies, eggs, baskets, candy and sharing tables of food. There are large pieces of Sunday’s holiday in our culture that are traditional and fun even if they don’t have a religious or spiritual connection. For us as Christians, Easter brings us amazing and awesome hope in the recognition of a risen Christ. The temporary is set aside for a glimpse into the eternal. It has been said that we are an “Easter people” (Pope John Paul II). We have faith, optimism, and an expectation there is something very real that lies beyond the temporary, dying things of this world. The intuition and curiosity within us that asks, “Is this all there is?” The empty tomb has a stunning answer that surpasses our current understanding of science or the laws of nature.
