“When Pigs Fly”

What is the message about? …

When it is highly unlikely or practically impossible for something to occur, the old saying is that it will happen “when pigs fly.” When Jesus is involved, miraculous, seemingly impossible, unlikely things do happen. In this Sunday’s gospel story of healing, pigs do fly. (Well, run off a cliff anyway, so the airtime is short, but it counts.) Another interesting aspect of this story is that when Jesus does make someone whole, not everybody is happy about the outcome. There is a lot happening when pigs are flying.
